Pond Heater
123 Ponds has good product selection and prices and rapid delivery.This is our second of these specific heaters. The first lasted two seasons then sank on one side ans stopped working as it developed a hole in the seam. Good product for a Buffalo New York pond.
Pros:Effective and unobtrusive.

Inexpensive and does the job.
It's only been in my 8ft round pond a few weeks with only a few days of it being frozen over. It floats well and is warm to the touch. Ice does not form around it. About a 1 inch ring on very cold days, enough to let squirrels drink and gas escape. On slightly warmer days the unfrozen water extends out further. Happy with it so far.
Pros:Floats, long cable, warm to touch so you know it's working.
Cons:None so far.

I have a small (100 gallon) backyard pond. I lay the heater on top of several inches of ice when it arrived. Within a day, there was a small opening of running water. Nice job!My only issue is that the cord is a tad short and it says not to use an extension.
