One of the best
We are using this pump to supply a waterscape that covers a good portion of the front yard. Living on a lake, there is an "endless" supply of water available. The only drawback is that pulling water from the lake adds about four foot (4') of head versus a closed loop system. In addition to this 4' there is another eight foot (8') of head
between the rise and length to the beginning of the stream. We wanted 60GPM flow, which the 6800 accomplishes, and then some, when coupled to 3" PVC pipe and running on 230v power. We originally set up the system using 1 1/4" piping, with disappointing results. The larger, 3" diameter pipe made a huge difference in flow rate, like night and day in comparison. This is a great pump!

Pros:Light weight; effective and easily cleaned strainer; quiet; runs on either 115v or 230v single phase power; meets or beats flow chart specs using 3" PVC pipe, which this pump handles well.
Cons:Two minor points:
This pump is made to withstand the elements and operate without a cover or house, which it does. Esthetics aside, it would help reduce operating temperature if the motor were white. This is not to say that the motor runs overly hot; it does not.
Both inlet and discharge ports come with a union that has a 2 1/2' glue fitting coupler in addition to the 2" FNPT. 2 1/2" is not a common size and tough to find at local hardware stores. A 3" PVC coupler would be a better choice, in my opinion.
