Important part to keep pump running at top performance.
These small filters can easily clog up with muck and effect the performance of the pump. Easy to flush out but sometimes will benefit from a fresh filter. Keep a package on hand.
Pros:Inexpensive, easy to replace, catch smallest of debris.
Cons:Depending on pond water conditions, can clog quickly which means they are doing their job.

good product, good service
We have a very nice fountain in our yard. The pump requires filters to protect the pump. More than once I have ordered from 123Ponds. They send the correct product in a timely manner and the price is excellent.
